MISSING CHANNEL+DEV END / INTERRUPT PENDING
             -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Missing Channel and Device End (or Interrupt Pending) - Indicates
that the unit attached failed to present a reply to a time-out or
intervention state on the channel.

When this occurs, the DOS/VSE Supervisor (or system nucleus) then presents the message on the operator console. It is possible to use the Hydra-II "FORCE STAT 04" to generate an artificial device end to the channel in order to restore normal operations.

Note: there is no equivelant "FORCE STAT" command on either HYDRA-SNA or HYDRA-3000 Systems.

Under certain circumstances (usually VSE systems) an error of this nature would take the system down to a screeching halt. It is a deteriorating type of error and left untreated will worsen as processing cycles continue.
