JDS MICROPROCESSING Microcode Fixes and Enhancements for HYDRA 3000

Release 2.11

1) "End of Medium" (EM) VTAM Data X'19' was not terminating print jobs correctly causing up to 3 bytes of RU data to be lost from the print stream.

2) User Defined Alias Names  were being ignored due to incorrect memory register usage.

3) Added a new "UL" (unit link) debugger command  which aids the linking of multiple H3000 control ports together. This new command let's a user on CTL-0 link ot a second H3000 connected to CTL-1 using a standard null-modem cable. Once the user is finished with the second unit, the link may be broken using a CTRL-R keyboard sequence.

4) Password protection for control ports has been implemented allowing a manager to leave a dial-up modem connected at all times without the possibility of security breach. Users must enter "PW" and supply a diagnostic password before they are allowed to use any type of destructive or altering debugger commands.

5) A fix has been applied to the "Erase Input" function. The correction prevents the function from randomly erasing portions of memory causing the unit to crash. The problem would generally occur when there is only one attribute and it is the last byte of the screen image buffer.

6) Printer or Audit devices that generate more than 2,000 characters of input may cause H3000 to crash without any type of error indicator. This affects the entire unit not just a single option module.

7) The operation yellow status light on Async Option Modules has changed. When the option module is totally idle the indicator is off. When busy processing data the light should flicker. A light which is illuminated solid is an indication of a microprocessor looping condition or malfunction.
