PROBLEMS WITH HYDRASNA WHEN RUNNING SNAUTIL
When running the SNAUTIL with HYDRASNA versions (P) or lower users may encounter strange problems if they attempt to add additional TDF's to the factory default configuration. Some of these symptoms are as follows:
A) Very slow performance on the unit in general.
B) SNAUTIL cancels due to program request even though all data in the load file is complete and correct.
C) Terminal Definition Files do not display on the main AutoBaud screen correctly.
Explanation: When the SNAUTIL attempts to add more terminal definitions than those that are currently delivered with the unit they HydraSNA reports "OUT OF MEMORY". Since the HydraSNA has more than enough memory to accommodate these terminal definitions the "OUT OF MEMORY" message is reported in error due to an allocation problem within the unit.
The user may bypass this problem by simply inserting a CLEAR command before he issues the ADD command in his SNAUTIL JCL. Although, this will allow SNAUTIL to load without canceling, it will not correct the corrupted AutoBaud terminal display menu.
The Terminal List is unable to display more than two full columns of available TDF's. When a new terminal definition is added that exceeds the two column limit an extra carriage return/line feed sequence is added to the line and the user will see an additional blank line added to the display for each new terminal type that appears in the third column.
This condition can only be corrected by removing several unused Terminal Definitions and allowing the others to fall back into the second column.
